This summer, St. Ann’s launched GET BACK!, a new series of unannounced live rooftop concerts by world-class musicians, sending artists back to work and bringing live music to people strolling or hanging out in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Named for the Beatles’ legendary surprise performance on the roof, artists have the chance to play together again — for many, their first time in six months — and audiences the rare nourishment of an in-person concert.

GET BACK! kicked off on August 16th with Grammy-winning guitarist Bill Frisell’s trio, followed by Red Baraat’s Sunny Jain on August 19th, acclaimed bandleader and percussionist who also serves as music director for The Jungle. On August 26th, multi-instrumentalist Eli Fola, joined by cellist El Szilard, exploded with a fusion of traditional Nigerian sounds, electronic, jazz, house, and classical music he calls Yoruba Tech Soul; Sunny Jain and his band returned for an encore on September 2nd. On September 16th, The Arturo O’Farrill Family Band had a spiritual experience above the trees. And, on the 17th, Ceramic Dog, Marc Ribot’s agit punk trio with Shahzad Ismaily and Ches Smith brought some signature funk and scathing punk to the Park.
